وهنا نجد الاختلاف عند دراسة السبعينية
(LXX) καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἀνὴρ δυνατὸς ἐκ τῆς παρατάξεως τῶν ἀλλοφύλων, Γολιαθ ὄνομα αὐτῷ ἐκ Γεθ, ὕψος αὐτοῦ τεσσάρων πήχεων καὶ σπιθαμῆς·

ولكن هناك مشكله في السبعينية ان بعض مخطوطاتها الاخري مثل الاسكندرية تحتوي علي ستة وليست اربعه ولهذا الاعتماد على السبعينية من الفاتيكانية فقط هذا خطأ
فيوجد عندنا نسخ من السبعينية تحتوي على اربعه ونسخ تحتوي علي ستة
ولكن هناك ترجمة يونانية اخري مهمة في هذا الامر أقدم من الفاتيكانية والاسكندرية وهي ترجمة سيماخوس اليونانية التي تعود الي القرن الثاني الميلادي تقريبا وهو كتب ستة أذرع وشبر وهو يترجم عن نسخ عبرية قديمه قبل الميلاد فيؤكد ان النص العبري من قبل الميلاد كان يوجد به ايضا ستة أذرع وشبر

ومخطوطة اليبوا
وبهذا يبدا يتضح انه الاختلاف فقط بسبب الترجمه السبعينية التي كالعاده في محاولة الشرح (لأنها ترجمة متحررة) وضعت الرقم كمفهوم وليس كلفظ
التراجم ثلاث انواع
لفظية اي تلتزم باللفظ دون المعني ويكون النتيجه المعني غير واضح بعض الاحيان
متحررة اي الاتزام بالشرح بدون اللفظ ولهذا احيانا يقول الغير مختصينه انه اختلاف او تحريف بسبب عدم فهم طبيعة التراجم
النوع الثالث التراجم الديناميكية التي تشرح المعني مع الالتزام ايضا باللفظ
والترجمة السبعينية تحتوي على الثلاث انواع لاشتراك سبعين مترجم بها في وقت قصير (اثنين وسبعين يوم فقط) ولكن يغلب عليها الاسلوب التحرري
ومخطوطة قمران التي تحتوي على هذه العدد عليها خلاف لانها غير كامله
وقد ذكر موقع نص العهد القديم من مخطوطات قمران انها ستة اقدام
ولم اتمكن من الحصول على صورة مخطوطة قمران لا المره الاولي التي نشرت فيها الملف فاعتمدت فقط على موقع نص العهد القديم من مخطوطات قمران
ولكن بعض الترجمات قالت ان نص قمران فيه اربعة أذرع وشبر فيوجد خلاف بين الاثنين
وما زلت ابحث عن صورة المخطوطه ولكن لم اجدها حتى الان برغم وجود صورة أحد صفحاتها

ونلاحظ ان العدد تقريبا كله متاكل فيما عد خمس كلمات غير كاملين اثنين في السطر الثاني ليس لهم علاقة بالعدد وثلاثة غير مكتملين في السطر الثالث
في السطر الثاني خرج رجل
في السطر الثالث كلمة قد تكون أربع وكلمه غير كامله قد تكون أذرع وكلمة شبر ولهذا الكثير من الترجمات توقعت ان تكون كلمة أربع أذرع ولكن صعب ان يعتمد على هذا لان الكلمات غير واضحة والعدد غير كامل فلا يعتمد عليه
وهذا ايضا تعليق بعض الباحثين

فمن يقول ان قمران تشهد لرقم اربعه بطريقه قاطعه هو أخطأ فالنص غير واضح وغير مكتمل
وبهذا يكون اتضح ان الشبهة لا اساس لها باعتمادها فقط علي قمران المتأكلة في هذا الجزء

قَدَرَ أَنْ يُحَارِبَنِي وَيَقْتُلَنِي
نَصِيرُ لَكُمْ عَبِيدًا، وَإِنْ قَدَرْتُ

عَيَّرْتُ صُفُوفَ إِسْرَائِيلَ هذَا
الْيَوْمَ.
أَعْطُونِي
رَجُلاً فَنَتَحَارَبَ مَعًا».

سَمِعَ شَاوُلُ وَجَمِيعُ إِسْرَائِيلَ
كَلاَمَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّ هذَا ارْتَاعُوا
وَخَافُوا جِدًّا.
فلو كان رجل طوله مترين ما الغريب في ذلك وما المخيف فيه فهناك كثيرين طولهم يصل الي ما فوق المترين
كيف يخاف شاول من رجل طوله مترين لان شاول كان طويل. اطول من كل الشعب من كتفه فما فوق فلو قلنا ان متوسط الطول متر وخمسه وسبعين سم فيكون شاول طوله فوق المترين وشاول شجاع رجل الحرب لن يخاف من رجل في نفس طوله بل قد يكون شاول اكثر من 4 ذراع وشبر أصلا لانه أطول من كل الشعب

وَكَانَ لَهُ ابْنٌ اسْمُهُ شَاوُلُ، شَابٌّ وَحَسَنٌ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ رَجُلٌ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُ. مِنْ كَتِفِهِ فَمَا فَوْقُ كَانَ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ كُلِّ الشَّعْبِ. |
بل لماذا العدد أصلا يذكر طول جليات كشيء مميز لو كان طوله أربعة أذرع وشبر أي 205 سم فقط وأقصر من شاول؟
وهذا يدل ان جليات اطول من ذلك بكثير. منظر مخيف جدا ان يكون ثلاث أمتار حتى لشاول نفسه الذي يتميز بطوله وأكثر من مترين ورجل حرب يرتعب منه
ومقياس للاطوال بين داود وشاول وجليات
ثانيا وزن الاشياء التي يحملها جليات ثقيل جدا
فمثلا درعه لوحده وزنه فوق ال 80 كجم وسن رمحه فقط 7 كجم بالاضافه الي قناة رمحه فهو اكيد عملاق ضخم ليحمل كل هذه الاوزان ويسير بها بدون مشاكل ولا ينطبق ذلك على رجل طوله العادي مترين لان الطبيعي الانسان لايستطيع أنى يمشي بسهوله لو حمل أكثر من 35 كجم
ايضا معلومه مهمة وهي ان طول جليات الذي يذكره الكتاب تقريبا 9 اقدام وست او تسع بوصات
طول اشخاص اطوال مثل روبرت وادلو كان 8 اقدام و 11 بوصه
بل في التاريخ اشخاص مسجلين طوال فكما يقول المؤرخ بيليني عن شخص طويل احضروه من العربة في زمن كلوديوس قيصر بطول 9 قدم و9 بوصات
"The tallest man that hath been seen in our days was one name Gabara, who, in the days of Claudius, the late Emperor, was brought out of Arabia. He was nine feet nine inches."
وبيكانوس Becanus يتكلم عن رجل كاد يصل طوله الى 10 اقدام
وأيضا شخص اسمه John Middleton ولد في Hale بالقرب من Warrington في حكم جيمس الأول كان اكثر من 9 اقدام وتقريبا 9 اقدام و3 بوصات أي اقصر من جليات ب 6 بوصات فقط

In 2005, archaeologists from the Bar-Ilan University in Israel, while digging at Tell-es-Safi, uncovered a shard of pottery bearing the inscription ALWT and WLT, written in the archaic proto-Canaanite language dating back some 3,000 years to 950BC. This uses a different script from the Roman alphabet used in modern Western languages. The shard, measuring 6cm in length, is thought to come from a bowl of 15 to 20cm diameter. The dating puts it within 50 to 100 years of when standard Biblical chronology suggests that David met Goliath and also makes it the oldest Philistine inscription ever discovered. Professor Aren Maeir of the Bar-Ilan University says that the words ALWT and WLT are non-Semitic and are similar to the word 'Goliath'. Certainly, the inscription appears to be written in script which is closely related to Phoenecian. Phoenecian is written from right to left, and the A, W and T in the inscription are Phoenician, whereas the 'L' appears to be a sort of spiral like a G or a 6. (A Phoenician 'L' looks more like our Roman 'L', but with the two lines forming an acute angle. Hence, the entire script is not exactly Phoenician, but is closely related to it).

"Archaeologists digging at the purported biblical home of Goliath have unearthed a shard of pottery bearing an inscription of the Philistine's name,
While the discovery is not definitive evidence of Goliath's existence, it does support the Bible's depiction of life at the time the battle was supposed to have occurred, said Dr. Aren Maeir, a professor at Bar-Ilan University and director of the excavation. "What this means is that at the time there were people there named Goliath," he said. "It shows us that David and Goliath's story reflects the cultural reality of the time."
Some
scholars assert the story of David slaying the giant Goliath is a
myth written down hundreds of years later. Maeir said finding the
scraps lends historical credence to the biblical story.
The
shard dates back to around 950 B.C., within 70 years of when biblical
chronology asserts David squared off against Goliath, making it the
oldest Philistine inscription ever found, the archaeologists said.
The Goliath find comes years after archaeologists unearthed a stone slab stele in Tell el-Qadi of Israel with the statement, "House of David" and “King of Israel” included in a patch of sentences about wars of the time.
"This writing – dated to the 9th century BC, only a century after David’s reign – described a victory by a neighboring King over the Israelites. Some minimalists tried to argue that the inscription might have been misread, but most experts believe Biran and Nivah [the two archaeologists who discovered the chunk of basalt at Tel Dan] got it right. The skeptics’ claim that King David never existed is now hard to defend."
