يقول البعض ان العدد في يوحنا 16: 16 " بَعْدَ قَلِيلٍ لاَ تُبْصِرُونَنِي ثُمَّ بَعْدَ قَلِيلٍ أَيْضاً تَرَوْنَنِي لأَنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى الآبِ» " محرف لان المقطع الذي يقول " لأَنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى الآبِ " غير موجود في بقية التراجم العربي

فالادلة الخارجية هي كثيرة ومتنوعة وايضا قديمة تدل علي اصالة النص التقليدي

والادلة الداخلية

الحقيقة نظره بسيطة جدا لسياق الكلام نجد ان عدد 17 يؤكد بطريقة قاطعة اصالة المقطع ( لاني ذاهب الى الاب ) وهذا لان عدد 17 يكرر في التلاميذ كلام الرب يسوع باسلوب استنكار وهم لن يفرضوا كلام من عندهم

انجيل يوحنا 16

16: 16 بعد قليل لا تبصرونني ثم بعد قليل ايضا ترونني لاني ذاهب الى الاب

16: 17 فقال قوم من تلاميذه بعضهم لبعض ما هو هذا الذي يقوله لنا بعد قليل لا تبصرونني ثم بعد قليل ايضا ترونني و لاني ذاهب الى الاب

فان كان العدد الاصلي هو النص النقدي الناقص فهل التلاميذ استنكروا عن جملة لم يقولها المسيح اصلا ؟ هذا ليس له معني . ومن يقبل النص النقدي هو في الحقيقة يقول ان وحي يوحنا البشير اخطأ وهذا مرفوض ومن درس اسلوب يوحنا اللاهوتي الرائع يعرف ان هذا ليس اسلوبه

القراءه التي تتماشي مع اسلوب الكاتب هي الافضل

وهي قاعده مهمة ولكن تحتاج خبره لانه يحتاج دقه في تمييز اسلوب كاتب السفر

وسبب الحذف هو ببساطة خطأ ناسخ بالحذف كعادة نساخ النص الاسكندري

إن كان السيد المسيح يجتاز طريق الألم والموت فهو يفارقهم بالجسد إلى حين، يدعو هذا "قليلًا"، إذ يعود فيظهر لهم بعد قيامته ويهبهم راحة وتعزية. بعد قليل يموت، فيختفي عنهم ثم يقوم، وبعد قليل يصعد إلى السماء إلى الآب، ثم يعود على السحاب ليحمل كنيسته إلى المجد الأبدي. فالزمن طال أم قصر هو قليل جدًا، لأنه ليس من وجه للمقارنة بين الزمن والأبدية. وكما يقول القديس بطرس الرسول: "ولكن لا يُخف عليكم هذا الشيء الواحد أيها الأحباء، أن يومًا واحدًا عند الرب كألف سنة، وألف سنة كيومٍ واحدٍ. لا يتباطأ الرب عن وعده، كما يحسب قوم التباطؤ، لكنه يتأنى علينا" (٢ بط ٣ : ٨–٩). كأنه يقول إن دوري يستلزم ترككم، لكن هذا الترك هو لحسابكم، لخلاصكم ولمجدكم.

 "ثم بعد قليل أيضًا ترونني، لأني أنا ذاهب إلى الآب". فإنهيوضح أنه لا يهلك، لكن موته هو انتقال. هذا هو إعلانلهم أنه سيعود، وأن مفارقته تكون إلى حينٍ، إذ يأتي إليهم ثانية، وأن انفصالهم (عنه) إلى لحظات، ولكن تبقى صحبته لهم مستمرة[1670].
